ITINERARY
The following itinerary is divided into two parts, with Jaguar Operation (2 nights) at the Pantanal Jaguar Camp and the remainder of the tour (3 nights) dedicated to Wildlife Encounters with tapirs, giant anteaters, capybaras, caymans, hyacinth macaws and much more at two different wildlife lodges (choose between Aymara, Pouso Alegre or Piuval Lodges) adding up to a fantastic 6D/5N Tour guided by an exclusive Naturalist Guide. At Pantanal Nature we have spent years observing the jaguars and all the Pantanal fauna and flora, in order to have a strong record of success in tracking jaguars, river otters and other animals and birds. Finding them is not a guarantee, of course, but we promise to show our guests the breathtaking wildlife of this fantastic reserve with all it has to offer. PART I - JAGUAR OPERATION - PANTANAL JAGUAR CAMP
Day 1 - CUIABÁ/JAGUAR CAMP
Pick up at Cuiabá in the early morning then, transfer to the Pantanal. Begin the tour by traveling on Transpantaneira Road – the entrance to the Pantanal stunning fauna and flora. Arrival at the lodge for lunch. In the early afternoon, a trip on our exclusive jaguar searching boat with both our expert boatman and guide searching for all kinds of wildlife, but with main focus on jaguars and river otters. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. (LD)
Early morning breakfast is followed by a boat ride in the best area in the world for jaguar spotting looking for signs of recent jaguar activity on the river banks. After lunch, return to the boat looking for the mighty big cat and other interesting wildlife such as Capybaras, Black Howler Monkeys, Iguanas, Caimans and several types of different bird species. Return to accommodations after sunset. The Pantanal is famed for its dramatic sunsets – a photographer’s delight! Dinner and overnight at the Jaguar Camp. (BLD)
PART II - WILDLIFE ENCOUNTERS - TRANSFER JAGUAR CAMP/WILDLIFE LODGES (CHOOSE 2 OPTIONS FROM RIO CLARO OR POUSO ALEGRE OR PIUVAL)
Day 3 - JAGUAR CAMP/WILDLIFE LODGE I
After an early breakfast, our last river safari on a great location with the highest density of jaguars and jaguar sightings in the entire Pantanal. A break for lunch will be accompanied by a transfer to a Wildlife Lodge. After check-in, a short rest. In the afternoon a boat trip looking for more wildlife species until sunset. Dinner is followed by a night safari with our exclusive safari vehicle, using a spotlight to detect animals such as crab-eating foxes, tapirs, caiman and nocturnal birds. Stops will also be made in order to experience the magical sounds of the Pantanal at night. Overnight at the lodge. (BLD)
Early morning start with a safari trip or a nice nature walk. After breakfast, enjoy a nice ecological trail on the grounds of the lodge. Lunch and a little siesta. In the afternoon a boat ride looking for more wildlife species until sunset. Dinner will be followed by a night safari with our exclusive open safari vehicle. Overnight at the lodge. (BLD)
Day 5 - WILDLIFE LODGE I/WILDLIFE LODGE II
Early morning start with a safari trip. Breakfast will be followed by an ecological trail. After lunch, transfer to our next location, another wildlife lodge. Check-in then, a trekking through the surroundings. Keep your eyes peeled for endangered marsh deer, South American coati, giant anteater, toco toucans, tapirs, and other animals and birds that may be seen at this amazing farm lodge. Dinner will be followed by a night safari and overnight at the lodge. (BLD)
Day 6 - WILDLIFE LODGE II/CUIABÁ
Early morning safari for wildlife viewing. This morning will be dedicated to observing the Pantanal flora and fauna at the lodge private reserve. Return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast a nice walk through the surrounding ecological trails to continue exploring the forest and grasslands to spot animals and birds. Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, transfer to Cuiabá. Drop off at the airport or city hotel depending on the client’s preferences. End of our services. (BL)

Note: keep in mind that the above itinerary is a suggestion and that the activities described may be altered due to weather conditions, group's interests or circumstances beyond our control. Our groups have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 7 guests, so let us know if you wish to have a private or custom-made tour. Please contact us in order to book your spot. In order to join a pre-set group please check our upcoming tours.
Attention: please schedule an early morning flight to Cuiabá or consider overnighting at a city hotel in order for us to set up an early departure to the Pantanal. As it takes about 5 hours to reach the Jaguar Camp lodge from Cuiabá, departures are usually set between 6am and 7am. The return to Cuiabá on the last day is at around 6pm so plan your return flight accordingly.
What to bring: light weight pants, jeans, T-shirts, long sleeve shirts, shorts, extra socks and underwear, sandals, walking shoes or tennis shoes, windbreaker/light rainjacket, sun hat, flashlight, sunscreen, insect repellent, binoculars, camera, film, extra batteries. Sweatshirts or sweaters are recommend from June to October.
Important: Bring your own reusable water bottle, the Jaguar Camp is committed to sustainability make it easier for you to avoid plastic by providing free potable water for your own bottle.
