The following itinerary encompasses a wilderness tour at the Pantanal Jaguar Camp Lodge, based at the Porto Jofre Region. Although this is not a Jaguar tour, this exclusive tour will enable our visitors to access wild areas deep in Jaguar territory during the low/wet season from December to May. Our expert bilingual guides will take you overland by safari vehicle along raised roads through private farmland to observe the Pantanal unique landscape and spectacular fauna and flora. By boat we will follow the Giant Otter, float close to monkeys and fish for piranha. Guided walks for bird watching will also be on the itinerary.
DAY 1 - TRANSFER CUIABÁ/PANTANAL L/D
Pick up at city hotel in Cuiabá in the early morning or at the CGB airport (maximum suggested arrival time at 10:30 AM) then, transfer to the Pantanal, traveling the entire distance along Transpantaneira Road to the Porto Jofre region, the gateway and only road that leads deep into the marvelous fauna and flora of the Northern Pantanal. The stunning variety of wildlife may be seen at close range. Arrival at the Jaguar Camp for lunch. The tour begins in the early afternoon with a boat ride accompanied by our expert boatmen and guide looking for monkeys and giant river otters. Along the way there may be a variety of birds such as jabirus, ospreys, king fishers, toucans and many other different species of wildlife. Return to lodge at sunset for dinner and overnight.
DAY 2 – WILDLIFE ENCOUNTERS (JAGUAR CAMP LODGE) B/L/D
Early morning (5am) for wildlife observation with a trip with our exclusive safari vehicle2 then, return to the lodge for breakfast before continuing the overland safari. Lunch at the Jaguar Camp. The afternoon will be spent both out on the boat and in the vehicle to observe the wildlife. Dinner and overnight at the Jaguar Camp Lodge.
DAY 3 – WILDLIFE ENCOUNTERS (JAGUAR CAMP LODGE) B/L/D
Early breakfast followed by a boat trip to observe more wildlife, during which there will be a chance to go Piranha Fishing. Afterwards, a trail3 through the forest for bird watching. Return to the lodge for lunch. The afternoon will be spent on an overland wildlife journey returning to the lodge after dusk. Dinner and overnight at the Jaguar Camp.
DAY 4 – TRANSFER PANTANAL/CUIABÁ B/L
Early morning boat trip to watch the sunrise, then, return to the Jaguar Camp for breakfast. Next, a wildlife walk before an early lunch. After lunch, transfer to Cuiabá. Drop off at the airport or city hotel depending on client’s preference. End of our services.
